This project was designed to renovate and revive a rather uninviting bathroom,
inside its limited borders, without any wall demolition.
The space was treated as a volumetric architectural composition,
with rounded shapes which contrast the rigid lines,
and highly differentiated hues and textures, demonstrating a sculptural appeal.
The corner door entry, led to an alternative, L-shaped layout design.
All the bathroom’s existing sanitary ware, tiles and plumbing, were completely removed.
The new wall-hung toilet was rotated 90 degrees,
enabling a floating vanity countertop to be added next to it, with a round vessel sink.
The old bathtub was replaced by a walk-in shower.
White painted, water-repellent rough walls, act as a background
for the tile covered surfaces:
the gloss ‘aqua’ zelliges and the matt ‘greige’, terrazzo patterned.
A custom-made plywood cabinet, was installed under the countertop.
A concealed access door, hides additional storage in the wall, for personal care products.
The bathroom featured elements, are arched shaped.
An alcove, a backlit mirror and a glass divider were placed,
giving character, light and depth.
As a final touch, the presence of greenery, not only livens up the space,
but also provides a sense of serenity. <
